FAQ

At PPX Imaging we are a little different from other x-ray sales and service equipment providers. We believe in helping educate our customers on the proper use and care of their x-ray machines. After all, purchasing x-ray technology is big investment and we want to make sure you are completely satisfied with what you buy and that it meets all of your medical practice needs.

Here are some questions that we get from time to time. If you don’t see what you are looking for here – please contact us.

How often should x-ray equipment be serviced?

Most x-ray equipment should have preventive maintenance performed annually. This will ensure the system is operating within manufacturer, FDA and State Radiation Guidelines. That is why we recommend and provide ongoing service contracts for the systems we sell and for those systems that may have been purchased elsewhere. When you select PPX Imaging as your service provider, we will go over what the manufacturer recommends for use of the equipment and follow up with you to schedule regular calibrations and maintenance.

Who regulates x-ray equipment?

X-ray equipment is regulated and registered at the county, state and federal level. When new x-ray equipment is installed, the FDA should visit within the first year for an inspection. There is no fee for this inspection. When you purchase your equipment from PPX Imaging we take care of all the required paperwork with all of these entities, so you can rest assured that you are compliant and meet all local and federal regulations.

What is digital x-ray?

At PPX we believe that digital x-ray is the future of medical imaging. Instead of using traditional film or CR cassettes, digital x-ray utilizes flat panel detectors that can significantly improve image quality and diagnosis all while lowering radiation exposure to the patient and staff. Digital x-ray allows the image to be reviewed within seconds of the exposure increasing the speed and efficiency of your department or medical practice.

What configurations are available for digital x-ray?

We do not believe that one size fits all at PPX. This is why we specialize in customizing solutions for every customer’s individual needs. Whether it is a completely new digital x-ray suite you are looking at building from the ground up or maybe you have an existing x-ray room you would like to upgrade to digital, PPX imaging will listen to your needs and design a digital x-ray system that will exceed your expectations all at a price you can afford.

  • Upgrades for all manufacturer x-ray systems utilizing wireless, fixed or a combination of DR panels.

How much does Digital X-Ray Cost?

Digital X-ray systems can now be purchased at the same price as traditional systems making it a great time to consider purchasing Digital X-ray for your facility.
